The workshop series focuses on managing and developing corporate data assets for the AI-driven business environment. Aimed at senior managers and executives, the series enables your team understand and plan data governance, work, and innovation in your organization.
The workshop series was developed by Aleksi Aaltonen and is based his extensive research into organizational data resources. The series consists of four modules and an introduction that will be delivered at the beginning of the first module. Each module can be delivered as one or two workshops depending on the amount detail and hands-on work that is preferred.
- Data Work and Working With Data. Data are no longer confined to dedicated experts or teams to analyze them—organizational data are the medium through which all employees perceive events, entities and actors in the organization and its environment, and make decisions and intervene in these. In this module, we learn how to build organizational cultures where employees across all levels are capable and empowered to contribute insights, experiment with data and AI tools, and share knowledge across silos.
- Data Design, Production and Quality. Most AI project failures trace back not to algorithms but to the data underpinning the systems. This module focuses upstream—on how decisions about data design, production, and integration determine what the data can do for organization and AI. We learn ways to assess and maintain data quality and how these change with AI.
- Data Governance, Management and Sharing. AI raises the stakes for data governance by simultaneously increasing the value of data and its risk exposure. In this module, we learn about data governance as a strategic capability: balancing access and security, enabling responsible cross-functional and cross-organizational data sharing, and establishing policies that support AI innovation within regulatory constraints. We focus on practical leadership and organizational design choices that distinguish companies where data initiatives thrive from those where they stall.
- Data, Innovation and Strategy. Technology does not create a data-driven organization—people do. In this module, we explore how data can become a driver of competitive advantage for your organization: how data can drive, for instance, proprietary AI development, data monetization and network effects that competitors cannot easily replicate.
